Bukan lagi pilihan Cina

If there is a policy that has lasted for 34 years and yet to achieved what it supposed to achieve, two reasons to explain this:

(I) There must be something wrong with the policy, or
(II) There must be something wrong with the person who implement the policy.

So, what can we do? Abandon the policy perhaps.

What so utter stupidity, rubbish and nonsense but yet so Bolehland. Pak Lah and his evil cronies will one day face their creator and be judged mercilessly just as truth and justice are non-negotiable principles for all time.

It does not matter at all if it was 30% or even 60%, because we all know it is all just crutches. How far can a people go with crutches?

In this case, I do not care at all if the government was lying for whatever selfish reasons it has on Umno-malays equity. It hurts only the crutches users.

I left Malaysia in search of a better life where I am free to think and do as I please, where nobody tells me what to think and do. I am a free spirited individual.

I have relatives and friends who now live in the United States, UK, New Zealand, Holland, Canada, and Australia - and call these places home.

If I were in your position, with all the racial discrimination back home in terms of places in the country tertiary education institutions, scholarships etc, I would be happy to pack up my bags and leave like some have done - like I and others like me, have done although for different reasons.

Life is more than just having a good job - and is not to be measured in terms of dollars and cents alone. I am not prepared to live a lie and say that I am happy when I am not.

We are among the fortunate in that we are able to exercise our freedom of choice. Others do not know what they are missing.

Freedom of speech is very important and should be upheld by every single individual be it in Malaysia or abroad. The Malaysia public has not reached the stage of speaking out their views and minds at the moment, but we have to make drastic changes for the benefit of all regardless of race and religion.

I am left speechless that now after 49 years of independence, Malaysians are still talking about the Malays, Indians and Chinese race and calling each other names, and telling each other to leave Malaysia if they don't like it.

No matter what topic writes, the posting still leads back to us versus them, Malays versus Indians or Chinese, or vice versa. Please realise that not all malays share the views expressed and not all Indians or Chinese share the same views.

Maybe some have been disappointed or rejected are using this board to vent their anger and in doing so fan the fire or racial hatred. I really object when posters say the Malays, the Indians, the Chinese, etc. This is brushing the whole race with the same slur just because of the acts of a few.

I believe that the better 'educated' people are, the lesser bigot they are. Trust the professional malays (the ones who read widely). The ones you meet or hear about are perhaps 'trained' to be professionals and not educated - they perhaps have not even touched a book from the day that they graduated.

So, perhaps you should not include them in the same category as what we have here at this forum. See, let us encourage them, the others, to get exposed to the 'elements' in the real global society and then perhaps they would turn around to create a better nation for Malaysians.

I believe the first thing that should be changed is the ridiculous race column in our forms. The day we stop filling up the form as Malay, Indian, or Chinese and etc……….we will be truly Malaysians.

Now you know the reason I left Malaysia. Every race has a place in Malaysia. No Malaysian should feel he/she is a second class citizen. Just because the NEP provide privileges to the malays does not make the malays first class citizens. Remember this is just a privilege, not a right.

The right is to vote, own land, make money, live a peaceful life, do business and buy properties. Nobody can take that away from the citizens.

When you talk about emigration, there is more to it than just economics - and affirmative action policies.

It is our choice - and we are happy for it.

We still have roots back in Malaysia. We are thankful that as a result of their discriminatory policies, we are leading happy and fruitful lives in countries like the United States - where we are free, and I mean free.

Racism is always the weapon.

Umno use Chinese as enemy to unite malays, just like unite Malaysians against Singaporeans. Hopefully, the younger generation malays learn the truth and not be blind by them.

I think all BN Chinese party is shit-head who are just Umno lap dog. Wagging tail as Umno speak. Pathetic.

Government only pays to built mosque, have they ever pay a cent to built temple or church! Malaysians do have freedom of religion but to what extent? I think we all know how "true" is that.

The racism will always stay because Umno is so one sided even though they say they treat all races equal.

The politicians want the public to keep feeling a bit jealous, hatred of each others. They lied to the public in believing the need of NEP by showing biased statistic. How many others actually benefit from it?

What their leader did actually does not benefit the malay community as a whole, only the rich and connected malays.

Public listed companies must have at least 30% hold by malays. Indeed in reality the percentage is higher, but why the malay community is still lagging? Who can be part of the 30%? The rich and connected malays? Yes!

The politicians are afraid that if the public united and "forced" BN (or should we say Umno) out of political field.

Yes, any politicians that continue to play the racist card - Beware! Your days are numbered!

If anything, the malay race's main downfall is their inability to compete without crutches. Say what you will against the Chinese and the Indians, but unless the malays look upon ourselves in the mirror, we shall see who our "real" enemies are.

Best thing is Malaysia history being altered to say all hero in Malaysia are only malays. Pathetic! This will only further split all of us.

If they managed to unfortunately cause another race riot, do you think at the end of the day - life will be better for the malays? The answer is no - race riot or tension is like a civil war - it weaken the country and invite outside interference.

Malaysia to be developed status is a joke in year 2020. Developed status is not on economically but politically and socially.

Those who feel hurt and challenged should not just sit back and complain, stand up and do something about it.

We are fellow countrymen should stand up and achieve our visions together.

Our Indian and Chinese brothers, be positive thinking.

The more they rely on NEP the weaker they are. On the contrary, other races will become more matured, flexible and dynamic. The malays are giving a very good training to other races in Malaysia.

We pity them because their race will deteriorate over times if they do not wake up.

This race stereotyping is actually the work of the present day government, headed by the Umno racist using race and religion as a tool to stay in power.

The native of this land a.k.a. son of the soil are the the natives (Dusun, Iban, Kadazan, etc) of Borneo and the Orang Asli (Dayak, Jakun, Sakai, etc) in Peninsula. Not you malays arrogant pieces of shit!

Before the arrival of Islam into Malaya, the different races live in harmony without questioning race or religion. They may be cultural different but they accepted each other.

After independence, race was used by the Umno racist, and then formulated the NEP, which divided everyone. The Umno fascist use Islam in schools, universities and workplaces to segregate, and in the name of fighting PAS.

The modus operandi of Umno has always be, divide and rule, and the devil is in the details and implementation of the religious department.

Umno is king creating diversion when they are cornered, use race and religion. Race and religion is the most explosive issues and they have used it successfully since independence.

All this is done to perpetuate their hold on political power. It is for Umno benefits to play the race card, because this is the only way to ensure their hold on to political power. And 50 long years have proven them right. The race card works well and works every time!

They have succeeded in keeping the races apart socially, and fanned animosity amongst the races with their discriminatory and racist politics.

All give politically reasoning - well here goes a correct one - malay is lazy because of Islam.

How can one pray 5 times and yet be expected to be productive? Wait for the foreigners to come and set up their factory and having to cater for Islam needs!

If malays embrace other religion then there is hope for Malaysia - otherwise your hope is in the existence of Umno terrorist liars……….don't count on them being there forever - we are factoring in Umno racist absence in our business plan!

The problem with malays is that they forget too easily. It was the Chinese, Indians and Malays who fought for the independence.

The NEP was design to help malays catch up with the Chinese and the Indians. Now looks like after 40 years, the malays are still behind and very proud of it.

Still want to receive handouts from the government! Still afraid to fight it out on fair ground with the Chinese, Indians and other races! Fearful is the malay race!

Without the government subsidies and supports - I don't know how many malay businesses will still stand? So when can we see some towering malays and who dare to refuse government help and still succeed?

Grabbing other people success and call it your own success is not success but a disgrace!

Their laziness caused the nation's economy to slump and resources are wasted. They take 5 days to complete a day work. Malays always think that they are helping the other races when they are lazy. For God sake, please wake up! You are doing it for your own, not for anybody!

Majority of the nation need to be educated again. On the meaning of Malaysia.

There are push and pull factors involved. An emigrant is both trying to escape something and advance towards another thing at the same time. For instance, a scientist who cannot flourish in his own country will want to go somewhere where his expertise is appreciated. Perhaps he finds the anti-intellectualism in his milieu too stifling (unfortunately, this is very true in Malaysia), or the government of the day too partial when it comes to resource allocation.

You see, the major problem with a not insignificant number of Malaysians is that there is a lot of false pride around. This is a vestige of Mahathirianism. Small achievements are overblown so as to build up national pride. It is Malaysia Boleh this and Malaysia Boleh that.

Anyway, I say cheer the emigrants on. Let people do what they want with their lives - they should not be beholden to the country. Do not blame their lack of patriotism for not staying - patriotism is poor persuasion.

I have mentioned in my posts that NEP is not constitutional and has extended its period beyond what has been planned to be necessary. 20 years has passed, but greed has set in.

Greed to benefits only a few and not the poverty stricken Malaysians. An affirmative policy that helps the poor regardless of race is needed.

I have also demonstrated that India has Muslim presidents despite being 80% Hindu. Similarly, in Australia there are Asian mayors. In America, New Zealand and many countries, top positions are for the capable not based on race or religion.

Now, let us not sweep all discussions under the carpet with the term Article 153.

Article 153 should always be interpreted together with Article 8 that all Malaysians must be treated as equal and dealt with fairly.

While the position of the malays are respected and their heritage not forgotten, they are not meant to be the guardians of toll and wealth and collectors that usurp all money, oil and some natural resources till it is left dry.

It is important we publish this, so we do not just shiver when we hear Article 153 and begin to use it to put down another race or think of greedy ways to gain from another.

(1) The quotas reserved must be reasonable and the reservation of licences and permits for malays and natives must be of such proportion as may be deemed reasonable.

(2) The scope of the reservation of quotas is only with respect to positions in public service, scholarships, and other similar educational or training privileges given or accorded by the federal government.

(3) The special reservation of quotas must not affect the rights of other communities.

Apart from the provisions allowed under the abovementioned Article 153, all citizens of Malaysia must be treated as equal. This is clearly provided for under Article 8 of the Federal Constitution.

Article 8:

(1) All persons are equal before the law and entitled to the equal protection of the law.

(2) No public authority shall discriminate against any person on the ground that he is resident or carrying on business in any part of the federation outside the jurisdiction of the authority.

(3) There shall be no discrimination in favour of any person on the ground that he is a subject of the ruler of any state.

NEP: It will destroy the Malaysia.

We must demand these changes and the power is with the people. We must go against a corrupt government, a fanatic religious social structure and not accept crime rates and NEP. We need to change Malaysia and the social structures that are not relevant for Malaysia anymore.

We need to free ourselves from these chains that make our lives not worth living.

Wow, that is quite an inspirational story……..

But can I ask, what is meaning of nation? What is meaning of freedom? And what is meaning of citizenship? What is meaning of slavery? Etc.

I hope will read story with more care to get these answers!

Our sport sucks, our legal system sucks, our government sucks, the people sucks too……….

Is there anything about Malaysia that doesn't suck?

That is why I sent my son to study oversea. I want him to learn the culture of other people not just the standard of study in this country.

Any welcome to Malaysia - the only country in the world (another world record) where majority needs the protection from minority.

Actually we have a very good country.

We have a very good people, multiracial, multicultural, we live very happily long long time ago even before independence.

But after Umno taking over the country, everything, many things change!

The protectionism and bumi special rights are the roots to our today problems.

I myself feel very sad to see what is happening in Malaysia. The country is getting sick, very sick!

I was in the same situation way back in 1980s. My only choice was to go to Australia. I am happy I did. Now I can retire in any country I want including Malaysia. If I had been accepted into the Malaysia university, I would have less than a fifth of what I have now.

Hoping some miracles will happen in future……….

Prime Minister Responds To Gerakan's Suggestion On Bumi Equity

SUBANG, Oct 16 (Bernama) -- Following are Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi's response to the call by Gerakan to the Economic Planning Unit to disclose the methodology used to show that the bumiputeras' share in the country's economic pie was only 18.9 per cent.

The issue cropped up when the Asian Strategy and Leadership Institute (ASLI) claimed that the bumiputeras owned 45 per cent of the equity in the national economy.

The claim was later refuted by the government as a study by the EPU had recorded bumiputera economic equity holding at only 18.9 per cent, which prompted ASLI to apologise and retract its report.

Question: Yesterday the Gerakan was not satisfied with the bumiputera equity which had not increased. The Gerakan wanted the government to disclose in a transparent manner the methodology used in the study on the bumiputera equity holding which is now at 18.9 per cent. Gerakan (president Datuk Seri Dr Lim Keng Yaik) said something was not right about the figure as there was no continued increase since the New Economic Policy (NEP) was introduced in 1970.

Prime Minister: So, he is questioning the methodology, we have no problem. We have no problem in explaining the methodology that we used. You must understand that whenever there is an economic crisis, the currency crisis in the past, terrible, everyone was hit. How many businesses, how many Malay entrepreneurs were wiped out, how many of them were saddled with enormous debt to the extent that they could not pay. So, all these affected our position. I hope the situation would keep on improving, but it was not so, every time there is an economic crisis or anything that is related to economic recession and so on, it will leave an impact.

"The government has long-term plans and during that period various things can take place. The increase in fuel prices had an adverse impact on the current efforts of the government. So, it is important for all quarters to face all these (problems) and strive to overcome them. We don't want to make wild accusations, what's the point of making insinuations, (I) don't know whether he is insinuating or not. Nothing good will be achieved. Being sarcastic will not achieve anything. Making accusation will also not bring any benefit.

"If you want an explanation, then ask nicely. What's the point of asking while making insinuation. This is not the way to achieve something positive. I make a public statement to everyone, not only people like him will ask, but others too will ask."

Question: So, Datuk Seri it looks like a group is trying to take advantage of the open attitude adopted by the present leadership.

Prime Minister: "People will take advantage whenever they can ... they will do so with an open policy, when restricted they will want to challenge demanding why (the policy) was restrictive, why there was no transparency today, why there was no freedom ... they will take advantage. It is human nature to do so.

"But we have to face the situation and we do so seriously. What's important is that whenever someone is not happy over anything, something that we can improve, we are prepared to accept their views but if the intention is to cause trouble, then we will see what happens.

Question: Is this a warning to this particular group, Datuk Seri?

Prime Minister: "To whoever it is, whoever the case may be, Malays or non-Malays, do not cause trouble; if one wants to ask properly, do so properly.

"If people do good once, we can do so 10 times over. Once you do something bad, be careful ...'.

"We are already very peaceful. (If) we have problems, discuss it in an amicable manner."

Does anyone really expect Pak Lah to full frontally outright challenge the malay special rights?

Even if he wants to, he can't - Umno will disown him. I like to think that when he mentioned subsidies, he was thinking of the special ones, the Umno-malays receive as well.

Everywhere I go, it is the same. The malays expecting the government to enforce this or that special privileges. The Chinese expecting the government to pull back those special privileges.

Nobody ever bothers to look at themselves; nobody points the finger at us. The buck never stops being passed around.

The problem now is, the politicians are talking the talk but not walking walk. Unfortunately, so are the rakyat.

We all say we want a fairer, more just, less corrupt society. But how many of us put this into practice? How many don't rely on the government subsidies? How many refuse to bribe the police officer who just caught them speeding? It is like the old saying goes - charity begins at home.

Malays are deteriorating in social and moral values so fast in the last few years that we shudder to think what is going to happen in the next few years!

Apostasy, incest, molest, rape, sodomy, unwed pregnancies cases are getting out of hand and spreading throughout the country!

So many malay youths are incarcerated in drug rehabilitation centres, prisons, and that so much money is being wasted on these social delinquents!

Islam in Malaysia is a total disgrace. Malays are a disgrace lot. In due time they will take their proper place among the Orang Asli and the Orang Asli will have moved on.

A genetically flawed race cannot be fixed by politically. Nature will take its course and globalization will put them out to pasture.

What have we got now?

Brain drain, economic disparity getting wider, poor education system, racial segregation, widespread corruption, inefficiency and uncompetitive on the government departments and others.

Likewise, fixing the nation's problems begins with you - the rakyat.

Malays are a diverse group of Austronesian peoples inhabiting the malay archipelago and malay peninsula in Southeast Asia.

The original Austronesians from southern China crossed the strait of Taiwan and settled modern day Taiwan around 8000 - 4000 B.C.E.

These first settlers landed in northern Luzon in the Philippines. Over the next thousand years up until 1500 BCE, their descendants started to spread south to the rest of the Philippine islands, Celebes, northern Borneo, Moluccas, and Java.

The settlers in Moluccas sailed eastward and began to spread to the islands of Melanesia and Micronesia between 1200 BCE and 500 B.C.E. respectively. Those that spread westward reached Sumatra, the malay Peninsula and southern Vietnam by 500 B.C.E.

According to the Encyclopedia of Malaysia, the Negritos, who number approximately 2000, are regarded as the earliest inhabitants of the malay Peninsula.

They are of Australo-Melanesian affinity and probably descend from the people of Hoabinhian cultural period, with many of their burials found dating back 10000 years ago.

They speak Austroasiatic languages, as do their Senoi agriculturalist neighbours. The Senoi and Proto-malay arrived much later probably during the Neolithic period.

Mahathir was telling half the truth when he said he tried for 22 years but failed to change the malay crutch-dependent mindset.

The truth is the malay mindset is firmly rooted to NEP, and he is correct on that score. But did he change the malay mindset during his term? He shed his crocodile tears, yes; but changing the mindset of malays, no.

He should in fact be credited or more appropriately discredited for making the malays formed their present crutch-dependent mindset. He used his book "The Malay Dilemma" for political advancement.

During Mahathir regime, NEP has gone perverted. Malay millionaires and billionaires were created through monopoly and state funds.

NEP should have ended after it has run its course in 1990, but Mahathir did not end the NEP. He did not bother to end NEP just because NEP protected his political interests. He left it as a baggage for Pak Lah.

Pak Lah claimed to do the right thing, to be PM for all communities. He cannot deliver because he cannot be what he said he wanted to be if the NEP hangs over his head. What was worst was his son-in-law had supported the position of that keris welding imbecile.

Was this a plan to make Pak Lah look weak? I wonder.

Mahathir could have changed the malay mindset had he wanted to, by being fair to non-malays in ending NEP during his regime. He did not.

He created enough problems for the country. Today per capita GDP of Malaysians is only one-sixth of that of Singaporeans.

When the oil and gas run dry in this Malaysia in two decades, our Malaysia per capita GDP will at best be better than Burma, although some of the government companies CEOs might still travel around in helicopters.

Mahathir should of course continue to voice his views, since Malaysians have freedom of speech, but nothing said about freedom after the speech!

It is still the bashing of the Malays that some of u are interested in giving yr comment.

Let me start to explained the content of the article. The article mainly is asking is it true that Chinese people now rejects the Chinese leader in BN.

You guys only concentrate bashing the Malay leaders but u guys forgot that the chinese few, which is in power too are selling yr own race.

Why aren't u people critised them or u guys are mainly here to do only one business - bash the Malays.

None of u guys are complaining about the MCA and Gerakan leader - is it because they r Chinese?

Come on, not only the malay leaders are in wrong but I believed the chinese leaders in Barisan Nasional is selling yr soul.

I stand corrected...

unfortunately, I do not hate the MCA or Gerakan chinese leader and things like that, because I dont have faith on them and since the beginning I dont think they really speak whats from their heart, they speak whats good for themselves... Well... thats all I can say, I dont have to explain anything because I dont know what they do all these while other than agree every single things the malay leader said and never once, I see them ask the malay leader, "What about the chinese and the indian? Dont they are malaysian as well?" NEVER!
Our country is just a country full of racist people everywhere, and we always think we are multi cultured country and people live happily ever after, but we forgot, other country has more different races and cultures than us, But i think this is all about the Malaysia Boleh disease, we thought we are too good compare to other country.

I wonder this government now is building a nation, or building a malay kampung.
Honestly, the most important thing is about our next generation, and so far all i see now, is the people biting each other just to get a piece of meat for themselves...

What about our current education system? Do we feed our children the right food? or stil junk food that sell in our school canteen? mamee and keropok? oh lord our country education is so lacking behind, our children are being feed by rubbish and our politician just sitting there, thinking about who is in charge, but they forgot, the young one for this generation is the most important part, because that is when, the 2020 comes, and also, thats the time, the so called "world" will look at us, since mahathir yelled at the world, we will make it for the vision 2020... honestly, I dont think we will achieve that based on the current performance, but we still need to prepare our young one, tough enough to get criticised by the world and tough enough to stand people laugh at our silly country.

Malaysia Boleh, boleh buat nasi lemak je.

and NO, I am not proud to be a Malaysian, because, they dont call me malaysian, they call me chinese, that whom, if not happy go back to china. Yeah, thats my status in my country.

The Chinese here talk about emigrating to US, Australia, Canada. Why not going back to China and compare note how they will treat you there in your 'own country'? In my previous posting i challenge any soul to show me a chinese that is willing to die (or has died) for malaysia, none! Many of them died shot for bank robberies though. No Chinese will die for our country malaysia, so what equal treatment are you talking about? you all are really decendants of prostitute from China. I hope more Chinese will emigrate to US or UK where ever and set up as many Chinese schools as possible, after all and you are being treated equally there.Hatred among races in Malaysia has been in existence like in any multi racial country in the world. However in Malaysia, Chinese feel they are strong enough to provoke malays like they did in 1969. Try to do again lah this year at least historians got something to write for future generation. In other countries where Chinese are minority they are as quite as rats.Out now ! choose any country you like, my recommendation is China because that is where you could find your root, probably in one of the whore dens in remote place of Southern China.

Brader Anuar,

Apa nak jadi kat negara kita?

kalo talak sunat cerdik macam u
negara kita ada harapan dah
kalo ramai melayu macam anda
negara kita terselamat dah
kalo semua melayu macam anda

He really sounds like my old neighbour who had 4 wifes and all of them dead from childbirth... and he turned nuts and scold every single neighbours to go back china, and even the indian neighbours also he halau balik china. He has only 2 kids out of 4 wifes. Poor man he doesnt work and his kids received no helps from any government agency, but my hometown charity, raised by the neighbourhood, yeah, that fund is raised from all races, malay india, chinese and thai. I have no idea who pays his bills and things like that, But i know, there is this old chinese lady every morning put 3 meals food infront of his door step, and everyday when he found the food infront of his door step, he prayed and yell how great the god is, giving him food everyday, but he forgot that is actually only one kind human being serving him and his kids food without saying a words.

"...cuma adakah anda sanggup korban 5 tahun untuk mengundi untuk pembangkang? "

Apakah yang Sdr. perolehi selepas 49 tahun merdeka? diskriminasi kaum, ketidakadilan, penyelewengan, rasuah, ....

Tak pelu tunggu lima tahun, kalau pembangkang tak buat kerja, kita tukar!!

Cuma kita perlu berfikir diluar kotak pemikiran UMNO/BN.

Selepas 13 Mei, NEP dilahirkan.

Sekarang kita menyalah orang lain diatas kegagalan pemimpin kita.

Pemimpin komunis: Chin Peng, Rashid Madin, Abdullah CD, Musa Ahmad, Shamsiah Fakeh. Berapa Melayu, berapa Cina?

Perompak brutal: Bentong Kali, Botak Chin, Mokhtar Komando. Serupa saja.

Casino dan pusat judi. Tengok siapa pengarahnya. Bekas Ketua Polis Negara pun jadi Pengarah judi.! Polis tak tau ka ganja masuk ikut mana, heroin masuk ikut mana, syabu masuk ikut mana. Sama ada polis tu bodoh ataupun mereka tak boleh buat apa-apa, sebab bos mafia ni depa kenal. Melayu ka Cina?

Hang cuma mngeluh Melayu cuma mampu jadi Mat Rempit. Selepas 34 tahun NEP, Melayu cuma mampu beli Honda Cub? Sedangkan pemimpin Umno mampu beli Ferrari, Lamborghini. Tu pun masih nak pertahankan NEP!

sekarang baru la aku sedar sebenarnya pemimpin2 kita tu kadang2 SPM tak lepas....tapi mcm mana bole jadi pemimipin itu satu hal, BERANI nak memimpin tu lagi satu hal!

betul la org kata, kalo nak kaya join UMNO. kepala hotak korang, UMNO patut lindungi rakyat dan push orang melayu to the edge dan jadi bangsa disegani...ini tak push to the edge terus jatuh gaung, yang senang depa dan kroni2 depa. apa dah.....

aku cukup meluat la mcm ni...mana golongan2 intelektual ni, all the thinkers, please la korang sume join UMNO dan tolak all the useless people yg SPM pun tarak tu jauh2....ILMU adalah benda paling penting dalam hidup.

tapi kalo jumpa org mcm KJ pun satu hal gak ek....bijak kuar dari Oxford....la ni nak pimpin kita pulak...sudah..

The government must take more pains to stop the brain drain and to attract experts such as scientists to Malaysia. How do we change the mindset that only pays lip service to talents?

We desperately need brain to do research. There has been brain drain in the country, especially after 1970s. During Mahathir premiership, I had heard certain ministers replying to questions in parliament on brain drain, especially in the 1980s last century. They derogated those professionals and scientists who left the country, saying 'good riddance'. Since the 1990s, many leaders have shown some interest in the matter.

Genius is an infinite capacity for taking pains. Brain drain has been going on from time immemorial. Countries that receive the most brain do better. Hence, Malaysia has to take pains to overcome the lip service, feudal and mediocrity mentality.

Malaysia is a multi-racial country and in future, all countries will be multi-racial. For Malaysia to accept a few foreign scientists, it will not change the composition of the population in this country much.

Today, Silicon Valley is full of Chinese, Indians, Pakistanis and even Arabs.

Besides attracting foreign experts, keeping and luring back Malaysian experts should be a priority. There are many factors that attract these people. Hitherto, the government incentives are not so attractive.

While in Malaysia university, I have seen endless rounds of discrimination, and I have to admit that I have been a racist since then. Many of my friends who did STPM deserve the places in university were denied, and their places were filled up by you know who. I am racist because the government made me.

I am a racist even though I studied in a sekolah kebangsaan for 12 years of my early education. I used to mix with all races, and we were good friends……….That was until I get into local university.

With the rate these universities are accepting half-baked students from matriculation and churning out quarter-ponder studs every year, you really expect the employment market to absorb them all? Every company will go bust in less than a year if such nincompoops are there. Public sector can absorb la. Use taxpayers money to pay them.

I was once a distributor for scientific products and what I observe every year is, new lab technicians are employed but most of them sit around chatting and do nothing. Why? Because there isn't enough work to go around. They are just idling away in front of computer playing solitaire. How nice.

The government is never remorseful for their sins of wasting the taxpayers money in just employing a particular group for the sake of giving employment.

During Mahathir era, they were twiddling that the public sector is overburdened by having too many employees and so the privatisation began, and today is there much difference if not worse.

It is a sin of wasting the people hard earned money by employing so many who do so little and lately the government is told to hurry up to give employment to 30000 graduates.

Malaysia has the worse system of racial discrimination in this world. Pak Lah, are you listening? Everyone knows it. All the politicians including non-malays hide under their coconut trees and keep quiet. These conditions are not going to change ever. So don't wait.

Although my children were Singapore born, we were lucky not to settle back in Malaysia but decided to make our home in Australia. My son is now an engineer with loan from the government here. And my daughter is on a full scholarship reading pharmacy.

So my advice to all parents is to get out of Malaysia. They should try going to Singapore, Japan or even China. You will be welcome there if you are above average. Good luck.

One of the main reasons FDI falling is the fat lady and her ministry have totally lost their focus.

The world main sources of FDI are North America, EU and East Asian countries like Taiwan, Singapore, Korea and Japan.

Instead of making more FDI promotions in such countries, our fat lady chose Sudan, Nigeria, Kenya, the Latin America and Central America instead.

Dear friends, I have spent 10 years in Malaysia, I am a foreigner, an academe and I am going to be thrown out for University Malaya despites of excellent research activities. I cared for UM, for Malaysia, I loved Malaysia people and I understand your problems, three races not easy.

There are for the moment no solutions for your interracial problems. The boil will mature and explode a day. When no more cash from Petronas will support the delirium of the present deciders, everything will collapse, it will be terrible, all will be finished. But after that you could perhaps rebuild a nation.

Meanwhile just have a drink and forget about what you see, let time do.

I speak to myself:

UM was once a good university. It has been a university up to the mid-1980s, after that it started to "sink", now it has reached the bottom. In the 1960s and 1970s, you could see well groomed lecturers and pretty clerks with well ironed dress.

How sad, why should we care? We should care for the students who are the first victims, especially the foreigners - we should care for all the good academes who, hopeless and destroyed by the "fill the form and eat noodles but never think" ideology, finally suicide, left ruined and depressed or were thrown out and replaced by spoiled losers.

They say they want to bring UM up - it is a joke. That is impossible unless you change public perception on "success"……….

Too many black magic players and fat asses are running the show there, from top to bottom. If you have any expatriate friends who tell you I am going to join UM, never ever allow him to work there, if you care for him.

Fellows. The brain drain in Malaysia is a normal process because the brains are not wanted, they are thrown out like dirt. A very skilled person, an intellectual will fall into depression very fast in working in a Malaysia working place, and worst if he or she is an academe in public sector.

True, Singapore does well. This is because the leaders of Singapore have implemented a public service that works: reliable, polite, fast, accurate. Singapore has very good leaders who have understood Singapore must open to the world.

If they really came from south China - then malays are Chinese too. Then malays shouldn't use that policy anymore - the NEP, right!

If they came from south China, why they are so cruel to us (real Chinese by genes, not words)?

History is dead! What we based on, are mostly theories! Malay has no written history! Don't forget that too. We at least know where we came from, and they don't!

They have no idea where there really came from! I pity them……….hahahahaha.

If all comments are senseless and worth nothing, how come he thinks that his comments are worth something!

Just highlighting the problems can be done by any 7 years old.

To give constructive feedback includes highlighting problems and offering solutions, that is what differentiates you as the opposition compared to the nodding BN ministers donkeys.

It shows that you and the opposition care to seek improvement for the country, by offering solutions.

God bless our politicians!

Just forget it! With the bunch of ministers monkeys around, our problems won't vanish for generations to come. Plan for an exit emigration plan is more meaningful, at least it gives us hope and motivation.

All Malaysia students should strive to become global citizens or Malaysia will not have a critical mass to compete in the global economy.

If the leaders wake up and give all their citizens the opportunity to help the nation progress, I am sure many will return to serve with distinction.

But there has to be a complete change of mindset. Meanwhile I shall be sending my youngest child to a foreign university just like his three siblings.

If they don't return to Malaysia, that will be Malaysia's loss.

There is no doubt that the academic standards of our Malaysia universities have dropped to a point whether we should still call them "universities" or should we actually now term these establishments as "over expanded high schools" instead.

With the departure of Dr Gomez plus others, I wonder what is left of our so-called institutes of higher learning.

As a matter of fact, I have stopped calling graduates from some of these "universities" for interviews, as I know through my past experience, I would be wasting not only my time but also the time of the graduates.

There were those who applied for marketing positions who could not even write a proper application letter to "advertise" themselves to the prospective employers, to induce them to recruit them (the graduates) for a job.

Then there were those who applied for sales position, who could not even sell themselves during the interview. Most of the time, the interviews are conducted monologues (the employer does all the talking) and the replies could be so incoherent.

It is such a waste and this is the result of Umno idea of meritocracy. God bless Malaysia!

The Malaysia education bureaucracy has an illness, no one in the world will understand. It is build upon paranoia and insecurities that their inferiorities will be exposed and be a laughing stock by people.

As the saying goes, if you give a man a fish, you feed him for one day, if you teach him to fish, you feed him for life. We already have over 30 years of combined NEP and NDP, do we need any more proof that it is not working?

The government should provide qualified teachers and improve teaching facilities, but it is up to the students to take up the challenge. I went to the same high schools as many of my malay friends. They were placed on a special fast track for overseas or local universities despite having lower tests score.

A perfect grade of 4.0 and you can't get into university to study the course of your choice? This so-called meritocracy is truly more like merit-o-crazy.

I remember a few months back, our country was crying out to our overseas Malaysian doctors, scientists and other professionals to return back and serve their country.

But now, a few months later, we are turning away these top scorers from pursuing their chosen course. If these students somehow manage to go overseas to further their studies (through self-financing or private scholarship) and excel in their studies, would they respond to our country's cry for their return later? I think the answer is obvious.

Same time next year, all this is going to be repeated.

Bullshit!!!
Jangan fikir hanya org Cina yg kena bayar cukai pendapatan. Sudah la... Org Bumiputra bayar gak cukai pendapatan dan ZAKAT!!!
Walau pun ramai org Bumiputra masuk IPTA tp berapa ramai lak org Cina masuk IPTS. Bayangkan peratus pelajar bukan bumiputra di IPTA dicampurkan peratus yg belajar di IPTS? Siapa yg majoriti sebenarnya?
Pelajar Bumiputra mengganggur bukan kerana BODOH macam PIG!!!
Berapa ramai org Cina jadi ALONG & LANUN CETAK ROMPAK!!! Siapa yg malas pulak? Membuat duit dgn cara mudah. Pusat-pusat hiburan melambak yg penuh aktiviti pelacuran dan dadah? Banyak milik siapa?
Jangan sesekali mendesak perlembagaan digubal semula. Kita tidak perlu bergaduh sesama kita hanya kerana dakyah politik yg mempunyai kepentingan. Bersatulah kita org Malaysia.
Selagi MELAYU ISLAM memegang tampuk pemerintahan Malaysia, InsyaALLAH, org bukan Islam akan dijamin hak-hak mereka. Ingatlah tunjang kedaulatan Malaysia datang dari org Melayu sendiri. Kalau org Melayu lemah, lemahlah Malaysia...

I do not believe that "all Malays are bodoh" etc. Most of the Malays in this country are kind and helpful, just like the Chinese and Indians. Can I ask the Malaysian Chinese people not to post generalised comments about our Malay brothers?

The ones that should be condemned are the UMNOputras. Please do not hurt the feelings of those who worked hard to put some foods on the table, just like yourself.

From a Malaysian Chinese.

i fully agree, do not generalize all the malays.
we all grew up in such a beautiful environment, which even make the american envy us, of our hamornization within races...
those culprits has no more ideology, no more cause, so call "tak ada modal" to gain support, they turn on to racism. coz they r not capable and only looking for money.
please be a more sensitive malaysian, i love my country and the people

Akhirnya DAP rampas balik! Jomlah kita sama2 dgn kerajaan bangun dan majukan rakyat Malaysia terutama bangsa Melayu demi mencapai negara dan bangsa maju tahun 2020!

Living in malaysia I sure all of us would had colleagues and friends from all races wheither there are Malays, Chiness or Indian. Most of them are good people as well as hard working personal depend on what they realy want for their live and family. On achievement it realy depends on individual desire for success. All the people regardless of Malay, Chiness or Indian want a safe and stable place to live and work where they can raise their family and persuaing their own dream.

Some would prefer a stable job to had spend more time with their family or persuate their own personal interest in any field they like. Some would wanted to become an entrepreneur and make a different in their life.

This doesn't mean those who prefer to stay with what their doing are lazy but just a different priority for them.

I am sure this is common among our friends or colleauges regardless of races. Thus please do not insult any race with word like lazy pig or express superiority over your own race against others. I am a malaysian chiness but I dont feel that my culture is anything superior than others. Is your attitude and behaviour that gain the respect but not your race or culture background. In fact my malays friends and colleagues are very nice people and berbudi bahasa, a quality that make others very comfortable when with them.

Life cannot be 100% perfect as well as race. Every race will had their own social problem no matter it is corruption, selling pirated VCD or commit crimes. So please do not mark any race just because of minority of them had pursuade such activities.

For the bloggers who use such an insulting words against any other race, either calling them lazy pig or asking them to go back china or india, I believe their are the very minority and all of malaysian would want this country to be successful.

So please do not fall into their trap till become emotional and make nonconstructive criticism.

We know the country is in her soon to be realized crisis economicaly and socialy especialy with the depreciation of oil reserve around 2011. Dont be surprise our politician would had their house ready in US, Australia or London and be the first to run away with money!

We also know that the current govenment can never be trusted. Malays know UMNOputra had betrayed them just as chiness and indian know how MCA or MIC take advantage of their own people.

The first step towards problem solving is hearing. Try understand wht other trying to tell us, ask till we fully understand it and can repharase it without error.

Reading most of the posts here had realy open my eye on what other race trying to tell us, things that may be too sensitive to voice out or discuss even amongs our multiracial circle of friends.

The good things of internet is it provide opportunity for everyone to voice their opinion. Lets use it as a tool not a weapon to destroy others in our own country.

Our next discussion should be on understand the fact that cannot be changed and how can we help each others towards a better future.

Till them, wish all of us who do care about this country and willing to spend our time reading all these blogs a wonderful day and overcome every challenge in life.
